The marine and offshore area provides many different demanding applications for hydraulics. Hydraulic cylinders are used for lifting, lowering, closing, opening and holding.
There is hardly a drive that is as suitable for the high forces needed and at the same time coping with the aggressive environment as hydraulic cylinders. Of course such cylinders must meet the high requirements of the marine and offshore standard.
This is not enough however! No standard can convey comprehensively the technical expertise for the design of the cylinders at sea. Here many years of experience in detail is required. At sea there must be no failures!!!
Ceramic and stainless steel coatings and also metallic inductive coatings provide durable, corrosion-resistant sliding surfaces, contactless sensors provide sensitive control and monitoring of the movements and speeds. Special seals and water-compliant oils contribute further to safety.
As a rule design and/or product approvals by well-known certifiers such as Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Lloyds Register or Det Norsk Veritas are mandatory.
In order to be able to tender for orders in these industries references and evidence going back many years are necessary. The trust of the customer in the manufacturer and in the product must be earned.
